What this is
SnowDayPlanner is a free snow day probability calculator. Enter a US ZIP code or Canadian postal code and get a live score (0–95%) built from the next 24 hours of forecast data — snowfall, temperature, wind, and timing.
Why transparent
Most prediction tools are black boxes. We publish our full scoring formula so you can see exactly where every point comes from — and judge for yourself whether to trust it. We would rather show uncertainty honestly than fake certainty.
What this isn't
We are not a weather service and not affiliated with any school district. Our scores are estimates from forecast data; districts make the final closure decisions based on road conditions, buses, and local policy. Always confirm with official district announcements.
Data sources
Geocoding via api.zippopotam.us; weather data via Open-Meteo. Both are free public services — which is why this tool is free, with no account needed.
