Privacy Policy
Short version: we collect almost nothing, and we sell nothing.
What we collect
- ZIP / postal codes you enter — used only to fetch weather for that area, cached anonymously for one hour, never tied to you.
- Basic, anonymized analytics (page views, device type) to understand usage — no personal identifiers.
What we don't collect
- No accounts, so no names, emails, or passwords.
- No precise GPS location — only the ZIP/postal code you type in.
- We do not sell, rent, or share any data with advertisers or data brokers.
Cookies
We use a minimal set of cookies for basic site function and anonymized analytics. No advertising profiles are built.
Third-party services
When you run a calculation, your ZIP/postal code is sent to free geocoding (api.zippopotam.us) and weather (Open-Meteo) services to produce the forecast — that is the entire purpose of the tool. We do not send them anything else about you.
Children
This site is usable by all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update this page. Last updated: October 2026.
⚠️ SnowDayPlanner gives estimates from weather data only. Your school district makes the final call on closures — always confirm with official district announcements.
